It was quite by accident that Anthony became interested in tracing his family genealogy. Being from the older generation and not hip with computers or the ever expanding internet his father-in-law, Reginald Bennett, put the bug into Anthony while he was assisting him one evening in 2004. One help request led to another and before long Anthony was headlong into researching his Ancestry.
He was born at the Tampa Bay General Hospital on July 24, 1971 as Anthony Lloyd Fry. Sometime during Anthony's first 7 years, his biological parents unable to care for him, was given up for adoption. It was a trying time as he jumped from foster home to foster home. He and his brother, Lawrence, were eventually placed in a Canadian foster home - the Handley's of Peterborough, ON. They stayed with this family for number of years before being permanently adopted in 1979 by another Canadian couple - the O'Brien's of Sudbury, ON. Upon adoption he took on the name Anthony Lorne O'Brien.
